In just over eighteen months since the release of her debut single, Sara Berki has established herself as one of the most exciting and prolific new artists in Australian country music and she continues the momentum with her fiery new single, ‘Favour’, becoming her second Top 3 hit on the CountryTown Hot50 airplay chart (Australia’s official country airplay chart). Her eighth release overall, ‘Favour’ follows the success of ‘A Boy That’s Into Trucks’, which spent two weeks at #1 on the CMT Australia Official Top 30 along with two weeks at #2 on the CountryTown Hot50 and has given Sara her first Golden Guitar Award nomination, for New Talent of the Year (Australia’s equivalent of the CMA Awards).
Born in Bundaberg, Queensland and raised in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales, Sara made an impressive debut in 2022, with her first three singles, ‘Fallin’ Off the Heartline’, ‘Good Enough’ and ‘Drinking for Free’ reaching the Top 20 of the CountryTown Hot 50 airplay chart and leading to the release of Sara’s debut EP, ‘Heartline’ in January 2023. Sara’s catalogue has achieved over 2 million streams to date, with all tracks being self-penned and self-funded.
Sara has enjoyed a great run of live shows throughout 2023, topped off with performances at Groundwater Country Music Festival at the Gold Coast and powerhouse sets at the inaugural Ridin’ Hearts Festival in Sydney and Melbourne, headlined by U.S star, Bailey Zimmerman. Sara was the only Australian female artist included on the massive Ridin’ Hearts line-up.
These shows follow appearances at CMC Rocks QLD 2023 (Sara has been re-booked for the 2024 edition of the iconic festival), a sold-out headline show at the Tamworth Country Music Festival and a massive tour supporting Travis Collins on his Any Less Anymore national tour.
Sara’s modern take on timeless story-telling, combined with a voice that ranges from gritty to angelic, and her endearing presence is winning new fans daily. With a swag of new songs and touring in works, this is only the beginning for Sara Berki.
